What our customers say about their experience
Why our whale watching experience is the best
Meet the Humpback Whales
Perth is home to one of the world’s most incredible natural events – the annual migration of humpback whales. Each year, more than 45,000 whales travel along the Western Australian coastline, offering locals and visitors the chance to witness this extraordinary journey.
From the waters off Perth, you can often spot these gentle giants showcasing playful and acrobatic behaviours. Breaching, tail lobbing, and pec slapping are common sights during the migration season, creating unforgettable moments on the open ocean.
The Whale Watch fleet follows responsible whale watching practices, allowing you to enjoy close-up encounters while ensuring the whales’ safety and well-being. It’s an experience that blends marine education, conservation, and awe-inspiring nature all in one.

In Perth, whale watching season generally runs from late August to early November, coinciding with the southern migration of humpback whales along the Western Australian coastline. This is when whales travel from their breeding grounds in the warmer northern waters back to the feeding grounds of Antarctica.
The peak months are usually September and October, when whale sightings are most frequent and behaviours such as breaching, tail slapping, and pectoral fin waves are common. Depending on the time of season, you may also encounter southern right whales, blue whales, dolphins, Australian sea lions, and a variety of seabirds.
